The Natural Therapies Certification Board (NTCB) is affiliated with The Center for Aromatherapy Research and Education, Inc. (CARE) - a non-secular educational organization dedicated to assembling research and disseminating information on the healing properties and therapeutic applications of essential oils.
The focus of the program is to teach Raindrop Technique and associated skills, as originated and taught by D. Gary Young. This is accomplished through a series of courses that anyone can take, including the Healing Oils of the Bible, Applied Vitaflex, Raindrop Technique, Emotional Release, Essential Oil Science and Chemistry, and Basic Principles of Aromatherapy, as well as Hands-on Practice and other Healing Skills.
CARE's complete Certification Program consists of 23 requirements (164 hours of training and testing) at which point one is eligible to become a Board Certified Raindrop Specialist (BCRS) and Licensed Spiritual Healer (LSH). There is an intermediate level where one becomes eligible to become a Certified Raindrop Practitioner (CRP) and LSH where one only needs to compete the first 11 requirements of the CARE Certification Program (71 hours). The scope of practice is greater for a BCRS than for a CRP. Once the first 11 requirements (72 hrs) are fulfilled, you are eligible to become both a Certified Raindrop Practitioner and a Licensed Spiritual Healer.
Once you have completed all 23 requirements of the CARE Program you are eligible to become both a Board Certified Raindrop Specialist and Licensed Spiritual Healer.
The Raindrop Technique is a spiritual healing tool endorsed by the Alliance of Christian Healers Licensing Board (ACHLB) and other spiritual healer licensing boards. Licensed spiritual healers may legally practice in all 50 states and 10 Canadian provinces. ACDHLB, and all the other boards accrediting by the Federation of Spiritual Healer Licensing Boards (FSHLB), requires CRP or BCRS certification if you intend to use the Raindrop technique in your spiritual practice.
Descriptions of the two designations (CRP and BCRS) are given below:
CERTIFIED RAINDROP PRACTITIONER (CRP) - participants who have satisfactorily completed the first 72 hours of the CARE Certification Program, which includes completion of the formal classes of a CARE Intensive (25 hrs.), have completed the non-class practicums (43 hrs.) and the Return Demonstration (4 hrs.) have the option of applying for the Certified Raindrop Practitioner designation. The Scope of Training for the CRP includes Applied Vitaflex (4 hours), Bible Oils (2 hours), Raindrop I (4 hours), Raindrop II (4 hours), Chemistry I & II (6 hours), Emotional Release (5 hours). The Scope of Practice for the CRP includes practice of Applied Vitaflex and practice of Raindrop Technique.
BOARD CERTIFIED RAINDROP SPECIALIST (BCRS) - Certified CARE Instructors (CCI) in good standing may apply for Board Certified Raindrop Specialist certification. Scope of Practice for the BCRS is as follows: Practice and teaching of Raindrop Technique; Practice and teaching of Vitaflex Technique; Anointing and teaching of the oils of scripture; Teaching the chemistry and science of essential oils; Practice and teaching of emotional releasing with essential oils.
CRP and BCRS are each good for three years and renewal is contingent upon accumulating 60 CEUs (continuing education credits).
